The investments should be viewed as a natural sign that our strategy of focusing on our core business is working,” says Bjørn Thorsen, CEO of Ib Andresen Industri.

Upturn on many markets

Ib Andresen Industri is currently experiencing a higher demand for the company’s solutions, both on the Danish market and in neighbouring export markets. “The requirements for fast delivery and for a larger number of finished steel solutions have become more rigorous, which is why we are investing now,” Bjørn Thorsen says.

Thus, Ib Andresen Industri is investing in a brand-new Ursviken press brake for processing sectional steel and workpieces up to 8 metres long. The new press brake will be used for customers who need long heavy sectional steel with narrow tolerances. As a result, the new press brake enlarges the company’s bending capacity, which extends all the way up to the bending of steel sections that are 14.4 metres long.

At the same time, the company is enlarging its manufacturing section for roll forming with a new roll forming line suited for profiles with more complex geometrics. This machine marks the biggest investment ever made in a roll forming system at Ib Andresen Industri and is intended to serve existing customers as well as new customers in the solar and transport industries, among others.

The machine can make complex profiles in material up to 5 mm thick, with complex perforation patterns, and much more.

The strategy works

At the beginning of the year, Ib Andresen Industri embarked on a new strategy aimed at getting the company back on track and shifting the focus to the core business. The positive results for the July quarter show that the company is beginning to reap the benefits of its strategy effort. “It is wonderful to see that our strategy is working,” Bjørn Thorsen concludes.
